MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police (PNP) urged the public to refrain from spreading speculation over the gunfire incident last week at the Senate, assuring Filipinos that investigators are pursuing a thorough, fact-based probe and will release findings as soon as possible.
The PNP issued gthe statement on Sunday amid the circulation of various theories and rumors online regarding the May 13 incident at the Senate building in Pasay City.Earlier, Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano rejected claims that the gun violence at the Senate on Wednesday night was a “diversionary tactic.”
