The Social Democratic Party has formally submitted the name of its presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, to the Independent National Electoral Commission ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a letter signed by the SDP National Secretary, Olu Agunloye, and addressed to INEC following the party’s national convention and presidential primary held in Bauchi on May 9, 2026, the party said it was officially forwarding the details of its elected presidential flag bearer for the 2027 presidential poll.
The party stated that the convention and direct primary election were conducted peacefully and successfully at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, where Adebayo emerged as the sole aspirant and secured majority support from delegates and party members. According to the letter, titled, “Submission of the Name and Other Details of SDP Presidential Candidate,” the party informed INEC that “the presidential candidate nominated by the Social Democratic Party for sponsorship in the 2027 presidential election is Prince Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo.”
