An unidentified man was fatally knocked down by a vehicle near Viraganur junction here on Saturday.Police said the man, who was about 55 years old, was walking on the road from Vandiyur toll gate to Viraganur junction, when he was hit by a heavy vehicle. Subsequently, the vehicle fled from the scene. Bystanders, who witnessed the incident, immediately informed the police, who sent the body to Government Rajaji Hospital for autopsy.Silaiman police are investigating.
