The Kerala High Court has held that a woman's body that had been handed over to the Government Medical College, Kalamassery, cannot be returned merely at her children's request.Such a request cannot override the explicit intention of the deceased to donate her body for educational purposes, the court said and went on to dismiss a plea filed by her three children, seeking the return of their mother’s body.They alleged that their other siblings handed over the body to the medical college without their consent, after their mother died in February.
