Some aspirants in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have accused Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of attempting to build a political dynasty by imposing former Commissioner for Works, Abdulquawiy Olododo, for a House of Representatives seat ahead of the 2027 elections.
The aspirants and several sources within the governor’s camp stated that the move was aimed at protecting Olododo from investigation over the alleged mismanagement of public funds and shielding him from scrutiny by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after the governor leaves office.
Multiple sources within the AbdulRazaq political camp told SaharaReporters on Friday that some House of Representatives aspirants were pressured to step down for Olododo, with promises of appointment positions in return.
According to one of the sources, Olododo was detained at the Ilorin office of the EFCC last year but was later released following the intervention of Governor AbdulRazaq.
