LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A 69-year-old widow died after a fire of still undetermined origin razed her house early Thursday, May 14, in Tanay town, Rizal province.
In a belated report released on Friday, the Police Regional Office 4A identified the victim only as “Liticia,” a resident of Sitio Bungahan in Barangay Tandang Kutyo.

Initial investigation showed that a neighbor heard a loud explosion from the victim’s house, which was made of light materials, at around 2 a.m. Moments later, the fire rapidly spread.
