MANILA, Philippines — Just days before the voter registration ends, Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas has called on the Filipinos to reject the corrupt by excluding them in the people’s vote in the next elections.

He emphasized that there should be no political colors in fighting for what is right for God and the country.

In a pastoral letter posted on Thursday and to be read as homily on Sunday, Villegas expressed concern on the “worsening problem of corruption of people’s money,” as well as the “Satanic lying and murder of truth and facts.”

He then criticized the leadership change in the Senate on Monday, where Senator Alan Peter Cayetano replaced Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III just hours after the House of Representatives impeached Vice President Sara Duterte.
