Metro services on a section of the Purple Line in Bengaluru will remain suspended for two hours on Sunday, due to essential maintenance works being undertaken by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).According to a press release issued by the BMRCL on Friday, train services between Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic) and Sir M. Visvesvaraya Station, Central College, on the Purple Line will be affected on Sunday morning.The metro services between Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji Station, Hosahalli and Cubbon Park Metro Station will remain stopped from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. to facilitate the maintenance work.However, the BMRCL stated that metro operations on other stretches would continue as per the regular timetable during the disruption period. Services will operate normally on the Challaghatta-Vijayanagar, M.G. Road-Whitefield (Kadugodi), Madavara-Silk Institute, and R.V. Road-Bommasandra sections.The corporation added that normal services across the entire Purple Line, including the affected stretch, would resume from 9 a.m. onwards.
