Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) on Sunday (March 29, 2026) announced a temporary disruption in services on the Purple Line owing to scheduled maintenance work.
According to BMRCL Chief Public Relations Officer B.L. Yeshwanth Chavan, train services between Garudacharpalya Metro Station and M.G. Road Metro station were suspended from 7 a.m. to 7.45 a.m on Sunday (29 March). “Train services on the Purple Line between Garudacharpalya Metro Station and M.G. Road Metro station are temporarily suspended from 7 am to 7.45 am due to maintenance work. Services are expected to resume at 7.45 am,” he said.
Mr. Chavan clarified that operations on other stretches of the Purple Line continued as usual during this period. He also noted that there was no impact on services along the Green Line and Yellow Line, which were functioning normally.
The temporary halt disrupted early morning commuters travelling along the busy Purple Line corridor, as the maintenance announcement came only on Sunday morning when the work began, leaving passengers with no time to alter their plans or arrange alternative modes of transport.
Services were expected to resume as scheduled at 7.45 a.m. after completion of the maintenance work.
