Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has purchased a 2,134 sq. ft. land parcel in Ayodhya for approximately ₹3.31 crore, acquiring the plot at The Sarayu, a premium project developed by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL). The transaction was announced on May 14, 2026.

The Sarayu is a 75-acre plotted development situated on the banks of the river Sarayu. The project includes a grand clubhouse, over 35 lifestyle amenities, and a five-acre fully vegetarian luxury hotel managed by The Leela. HoABL describes it as Ayodhya’s first branded plotted development offering clear land titles alongside premium infrastructure.

Kapoor’s purchase follows a broader trend of high-net-worth individuals investing in Ayodhya’s real estate market. According to HoABL Chairman Abhinandan Lodha, the city is attracting buyers driven by both cultural sentiment and long-term investment logic, supported by sustained infrastructure spending and rising tourism.

Ayodhya has seen significant public investment of over ₹85,000 crore in recent years, covering roads, rail, airports, and urban development. Visitor numbers to the city climbed from roughly 57.5 million annually before major construction to 230 million between January and June 2025, according to government estimates, with projections of close to 500 million by year-end.
