The 61st International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, which opened on Saturday, has undergone a series of unusual upheavals. First, the curator chosen to lead it, Cameroonian-born Koyo Kouoh, died unexpectedly. Subsequently, German artist Henrike Naumann, who was slated to represent her country at the event, also passed away.
