US intelligence agencies have privately informed decision-makers that Iran has regained control of about 90 per cent of its underground missile facilities across the country, according to sources cited by The New York Times.

The classified assessments, conducted earlier this month, said Tehran had preserved a large part of its missile arsenal, developing a strategic challenge for Washington amid what officials described as a severe shortage of key munitions.
