Zelenskyy described the attacks as devastating and widespread, saying rescue operations were still ongoing in parts of the capital.

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has accused Russia of escalating its campaign of terror against civilians after a wave of overnight missile and drone attacks killed at least five people in Kyiv and injured dozens across several regions of Ukraine.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, May 14, 2026, Zelenskyy described the attacks as devastating and widespread, saying rescue operations were still ongoing in parts of the capital.

“As of now, already 5 people have been reported killed in Kyiv as a result of last night’s Russian attack,” Zelenskyy said.

“My condolences to their families and loved ones. Around 40 people have been injured in the capital, and another 7 in the Kyiv region.
