Refugee Week Greece has launched an open call for entries for its 2026 art festival, inviting refugee, migrant and diaspora artists to submit projects exploring the theme of “Courage.”
The annual grassroots arts and culture initiative, founded in 2021, celebrates the creativity and contributions of refugees and migrants in Greece while promoting diversity and social inclusion through exhibitions, performances and community events.
Organizers said this year’s theme draws from the Latin word “cor,” meaning heart, and aims to highlight both the extraordinary and everyday forms of courage shown by people seeking sanctuary.
“Courage isn’t always loud or bold,” the festival said in its call for submissions. “It can be found in simple acts: opening your door to a neighbor, speaking up, sharing your story – or simply having the courage to be yourself.”
The 2026 edition also coincides with the 75th anniversary of Refugee Convention.
