This was discussed in a special meeting on tax enforcement measures chaired by Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Cheema.

An official announcement of the Economic Affairs Division said that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Langrial gave a detailed briefing on various proposed tax enforcement measures under consideration for the coming budget to address under-reporting, non-reporting, under-invoicing, tax evasion and smuggling.

The proposals under consideration for announcement in the upcoming budget 2026-27 include measures to improve transparency and documentation through digital tools, with a focus on strengthening enforcement mechanisms.
