Google has signed a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Linea Energy for 500MW of solar power in Matagorda County, Texas.
Google will offtake power from the Duffy Solar Project, a 490MW solar and 235MW/470MWh battery energy storage project. Construction of the project is slated to commence in Q3 of this year.
According to Google, the PPA will support its data center operations in the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market.
"We are pleased to sign this agreement to supply clean energy in Texas to Google, one of the world's largest buyers of clean power," said Cassidy DeLine, CEO of Linea Energy. "This transaction highlights Linea's credibility amongst the largest hyperscalers and the ability to support affordability and grid reliability."
