Insta360 is leaning hard into vintage-camera nostalgia with its new GO 3S Retro Bundle, and honestly, it might be the coolest tiny camera launch of the year.
At its core, the Retro Bundle is still the same ultra-light GO 3S action camera many creators already know. Weighing just 39 grams, the standalone camera is designed for hands-free shooting, wearable POV footage, and quick everyday capture. But this new bundle leans heavily into nostalgia, combining retro-inspired accessories, film-style filters, and a slower, more intentional shooting experience that feels very different from the usual “point, shoot, upload” approach of modern content creation.
The biggest addition here is the Retro Viewfinder, which essentially gives the GO 3S the personality of a tiny vintage street camera. Instead of constantly staring at a screen, users frame shots through an optical waist-level viewfinder, similar to what photographers used on older film cameras decades ago.
That may sound limiting in 2026, but that’s kind of the point.
The design encourages users to slow down, compose shots more thoughtfully, and focus on spontaneous everyday moments rather than endlessly retaking clips for social media perfection. Insta360 is clearly targeting street photography fans, travel creators, and younger users who romanticize the look and feel of analog photography despite growing up entirely in the smartphone era.
