Some of the biggest investors in the world are coming for Australia’s Qube, yet you wouldn’t know their names from the deal’s bible.
Macquarie has put together a dreamboat of a private capital consortium to pay $11.7 billion for ports and rail logistics operator Qube, it just doesn’t like talking about the full extent of it. Neither does Qube.
Why not? It’s hard to know. Exactly who Macquarie Asset Management’s biggest backers are is a little bit commercially sensitive, but it’s hardly a state secret. There’s only a small pool of real money out there and it all traces back to the world’s biggest pension and sovereign wealth funds.
