Apple TV’s hit series Ted Lasso inspired viewers to “Believe,” and it seems that message resonated strongly with the show’s actors too. Dani Rojas actor Cristo Fernández has just signed a contract to become a professional soccer player.
Cristo Fernández, the actor who played “fútbol is life” Dani Rojas in Ted Lasso, has just turned his dreams into reality.
El Paso Locomotive FC announced today that it has signed Fernández as a forward. The signing follows “an extensive two-month trial with the team where [Fernández] became a regular presence in training and appeared in a preseason match against New Mexico United.”
Fernández played the game as a youth, but stepped away at 15 due to injury. Now he’s giving it another run, channeling the “Believe” energy from Ted Lasso.
