President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao had a lengthy meeting with the party general secretaries and other senior leaders for about six hours at his Erravelli farmhouse near Gajwel on Tuesday (May 12).
Apart from the coming elections to GHMC and two other Corporations in Hyderabad and mandal parishad and zilla parishad elections, he discussed about the party’s membership drive, formation of new party committees, appointment of coordinators to every constituency.
It was preferred that the party’s membership drive too should be taken up in the digital mode since the Election Commission of India has already decided to take up special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in the digital mode. A coordinator from the State committee would be appointed to every constituency for the membership drive.
Further, membership coordination committees would be appointed over the next two to three days to every mandal and urban local body to complete the membership drive without any hiccups. It was decided to train 71,310 party workers at two members each for 35,655 polling booths.
Training would also be given on the digital membership drive and the general secretaries of the party would handle the training programmes and oversee the membership drive.
