Nearly one in four Italian children are living in poverty, according to a report released by Unicef on Tuesday.

The report by the 'Unicef Office of Strategy and Evidence - Innocenti' said around 23% of children here live in families with an income below 60% of the national average.

The study also said that 27% of Italian children and adolescents aged five to 19 are overweight.

Italy's suicide-mortality rate for 15-to-19-year-olds is 2.82 per 100,000, one of the lowest levels in Europe, it said.
