Former Kerala Director General of Police (DGP) P.J. Alexander passed away on Friday (May 8, 2026) while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. He was 92. He had been under medical care for age-related ailments.
Dr. Alexander, a 1961-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, resided at Kowdiar and hailed from Kottarakkara. He retired from service in 1994 while serving as the chairman and managing director of the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC). He began his professional career as a teacher at Kerala University before entering IPS and joining the Kerala Police.
