The Odisha government has issued a comprehensive standard operating procedure (SOP) to all urban local bodies to ensure preparedness to tackle urban flooding during the monsoon.

The Housing and Urban Development Department issued the SOP, directing officials to implement it in "letter and spirit".

Emphasising accountability, the government said any lapse in execution would be viewed seriously, underlining its commitment to urban resilience and disaster preparedness.
