Chennai Councillors want flood mitigation works and civic projects expedited

As the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for Assembly elections is set to be lifted after May 6, Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) councillors have started demanding that the civic body expedite civic infrastructure projects.

AIADMK councillor J. John said residents have requested the Corporation to start work on three culverts between Pattaravakkam Railway Station and Korattur Railway Station to facilitate water flow across the railway tracks from water bodies such as Ayapakkam Lake and Ambattur Lake to Korattur Lake.
