May 5 (UPI) -- FX on Hulu released a surprise bonus episode of The Bear on Tuesday, titled Gary and written by stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal.
The episode, which is listed under its own name and not as part of The Bear series proper, serves as a prequel to the dramedy series.
"Gary takes place a few years before the opening of The Bear and follows Richard 'Richie' Jerimovich and Michael 'Mikey' Berzatto on a work trip to Gary, Indiana," the episode description reads.
Moss-Bachrach, who plays Richie, announced the bonus episode on Instagram.
