Classes for Intermediate First Year in all government and private junior colleges of Telangana across general and vocational streams for the 2026-27 academic year will begin on June 1.
The first phase of admissions will start on May 8, according to the schedule released by the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) on Monday.
Colleges have been instructed to grant provisional admissions based on Intermediate marks memos, to be confirmed once original SSC marks memos and Transfer Certificates are submitted. Principals have also been directed not to conduct entrance tests, and to base admissions solely on candidates’ GPA and subject-wise marks in the qualifying examination.
Principals of unaided junior colleges have been directed to limit each section to a maximum of 88 students, with additional sections requiring prior approval from the Board. Aadhaar details of students are mandatory at the time of admission.
The BIE has also instructed principals to ensure the safety of girl students and make it compulsory for both students and parents to submit an anti-drug affidavit at the time of admission.
