Goshamahal police arrested five persons for allegedly cheating customers and endangering lives by illegally refilling domestic LPG cylinders into smaller and commercial ones in Goshamahal.

The accused were identified as Alle Sai Kumar, 32, Dalmova Vineeth Kumar, 42, D. Praveen Kumar, 47, Makadia Ameet Kumar, 43, and Pusa Ganesh, 45.

Police said the case came to light after Ashok Tiwari lodged a complaint on May 1 alleging that an Indane gas cylinder delivered to his residence was underweight, weighing around 28 kg instead of the standard 30.4 kg.

The complainant alleged that the discrepancy had occurred repeatedly, resulting in the gas getting exhausted much earlier than expected.

Based on the complaint and subsequent verification, police found that the accused were allegedly involved in illegally transferring gas from domestic cylinders into smaller cylinders and commercial cylinders for profit.
