U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday (May 1, 2026) he was “not satisfied” with Iran’s latest proposal in negotiations to end the war between the countries, rejecting the plan almost as soon as it was delivered.

Tehran delivered the new proposal for talks with the U.S. via Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator between the two sides, even as its Revolutionary Guards warned that American warships “will burn” like U.S. bases in the region, if Iran is attacked again.

The text of the proposal was handed over to Pakistan on Thursday evening (April 30, 2026), Iran’s state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported on Friday (May 1, 2026), without providing more details.

“Ending the war and establishing a sustainable peace remain Tehran’s main priorities in negotiations with the U.S.,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said in a TV interview.

“They want to make a deal, I’m not satisfied with it, so we’ll see what happen,” Mr. Trump told presspersons on Friday (May 1) at the White House, Associated Press reported.
