These sandals are taking toes out to a new level.
The internet is divided over the barely there unique footwear featured in the Chanel Cruise 2027 collection by creative director Matthieu Blazy. The Biarritz, France, show occurred this week and attracted A-Listers including A$AP Rocky, Michaela Coel and Nicole Kidman.
The luxury fashion brand showcased a shoe that only covers the heel, resulting in an unconventional barefoot look. Vogue staffers shared their initial reaction to the piece, some of whom were intrigued and pointed out how Blazy is leaning into the fantasy of it all.
"What a cheeky, fun idea. Blazy isn’t trying to convince anyone that these are practical, but sometimes the whimsy is the entire point," one said. Another had a different opinion: "Fear struck me—I’m not pedicure-ready! My toes must stay securely ensconced, for now."
Once it hit the timeline, social media users had fun with it and gave their unfiltered opinions.
