Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) and Sydney Kamlager-Dove (Calif.) minced no words when asked about the State Department’s controversial decision to feature an image of Donald Trump on a new special edition passport.
“It’s giving Monopoly money,” Ocasio-Cortez told MeidasTouch Network’s Pablo Manríquez on Wednesday.
The New York Democrat suggested Trump was “jealous that Mount Rushmore got a page and you’ve got four presidents in there and he’s probably saying, ‘Why don’t I get a passport page?’”
Ocasio-Cortez also hinted that administration officials played a part, too.
“I think there’s also like all these lower-level people competing for his love and attention as well,” she said.
