The heavy downpour on Wednesday evening (April 29, 2026) along with thunderstorms and hailstorms, not only caused hardship to people but also had an impact on the birds as several were rescued from various parts of the city.
Avian and Reptile Rehabilitation Centre said that more than 100 birds have been rescued by them since April 29.

Of these, 13 Black Kites were rescued from a club in Cubbon Park after they got a call from the club staff.
