Tamil Nadu has recorded a pass percentage of 99.91% for both Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class 12 examinations and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class 10 exams. The results of the exams held by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) were announced on Thursday (April 30, 2026). Last year, Tamil Nadu registered a pass rate of 99.97%.
A total of 3,305 students from 88 schools across Tamil Nadu appeared for the Class 12 exams. While girls achieved a pass percentage of 99.93%, 99.89% of boys passed.
For the ICSE exams, 6,431 students from 131 schools across the State had registered. All the girls who appeared for the exams passed, while the pass percentage for boys was 99.83%. Nationally, the pass percentage was 99.18% for the ICSE and 99.13% for the ISC examinations.
As many as 4,265 Other Backward Classes candidates took the Class 10 examination and achieved a pass rate of 99.95%. A total of 1,662 General Category candidates achieved a pass percentage of 99.76%.
A total of 2,148 Other Backward Classes candidates sat for the Class 12 examinations with a 100% pass rate, while 985 General Category candidates sat for the exam with a 99.07% pass rate.
