This year onwards CBSE will be conducting two Class 10 board examinations for students in an effort to give the students a chance to enhance their performance and reduce their burden. As the exams concluded in March, many students had decided to take up the second set of examinations as their Math question paper was tough.
The Chennai region climbed to third place in the country compared to last year’s fourth with a pass rate of 99.58. The Class 10 exams began on February 17 and concluded on March 11.
In Tamil Nadu, 60,730 boys and 50,873 girls wrote the Class 10 exams. Girls outperformed boys in this year’s examination, with a pass percentage of 99.96, while boys stood at 99.90% pass rate. Most schools in Chennai city registered 100% pass rate. A total of 1,544 schools are registered and the exams were conducted in 360 centers across the State.
While schools in the city were happy about the results, many educators highlighted that students were interested in taking up the second examination for mathematics.
