Imagine listening to lectures on string theory, biodiversity or geopolitics — at a bar. That is the premise of Pint of View (PoV), whose Hyderabad chapter has been hosting bi-monthly sessions since October 2025. The series has steadily grown, with attendance rising from around 60 to over 200.

PoV was founded in Bengaluru by Harsh Snehanshu, Shruti Sah and Meghna Chaudhury, inspired by the US-based Lectures on Tap format — 45-minute talks followed by audience interaction.

The series has since expanded to cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Gurugram, Chennai, Goa and Kolkata. Its decentralised format allows each city’s curator to shape sessions based on local interests.

Multidisciplinary topics

Trisha Bhugra, who curates the Hyderabad chapter, notes that audiences, largely working professionals, have taken to lectures in informal settings. Initially guided by Harsh and Shruti to focus on multidisciplinary themes, Trisha found Hyderabad responding strongly to science, geopolitics, history and music. “I try to keep the mix varied so we attract different audiences over time,” she says.
