Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) announced that its Department of Marine Biology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BMR Group of Industries for conducting joint research and to foster new innovations in the field of biology.

This agreement is expected to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industrial exposure, providing international-standard training to students in SPSR Nellore district. The MoU aims at providing the students with hands-on industrial experience alongside their theoretical curriculum. It facilitates mandatory internships for the students within BMR Group facilities.

Speaking on the occasion, VSU Vice-Chancellor Allam Srinivasa Rao said that partnerships between educational institutions and industries enhance student skills and improve employability. He revealed that the university plans to forge similar collaborations with more prominent organisations in the future.

BMR Group chairman and Rajya Sabha member Beeda Mastan Rao Yadav urged the students to sharpen their skills according to current industrial requirements. During the event, he announced the sanctioning of ₹1 crore from his MP funds for the construction of a 'Health Centre' on the university campus. This facility will provide immediate medical services and health monitoring for the campus community.
