The YSRCP has raised concern over farmers’ woes due to a lack of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their produce.
A meeting of the farmers’ wing working presidents, State vice-presidents, general secretaries, and district presidents was held at the party office in Tadepalli under the chairmanship of Jinnuri Rama Rao on Friday.
Addressing the gathering, YSRCP State coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said the farmers’ wing would be strengthened and made more proactive to address issues at the grassroots level. Farmers are facing difficulties due to low prices and lack of proper support from the government.
The farmers’ wing should guide farmers and focus on solving issues at the ground level. Farmers were not getting fair price for crops like maize and alleged that the government failed to protect their interests. He added that the YSRCP government had supported farmers even during COVID-19 period.
MLC Lella Appireddy said irrigation projects started during the tenure of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy were still incomplete.
