Pope Leo XIV said at a Mass in Equatorial Guinea Wednesday that natural riches should be a blessing for all.
During the Mass in the mineral-rich area of Mongomo, the pope once again called for a fair distribution of resources.
"The Creator has endowed you with so many natural riches: I urge you to cooperate so that they may be a blessing for all.
"May the Lord help you to increasingly become a society in which each person, according to their different responsibilities, works to serve the common good and not particular interests, overcoming the unjust inequalities between the privileged and the disadvantaged," Leo XIV emphasized.
Leo also denounced worrying prison conditions in Equatorial Guinea ahead of a visit to a prison there, saying the dignity of all must be protected.
