The Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRA) on Wednesday (April 22, 2026) secured 9.05 acres of government land in Shamshabad mandal of Rangareddy district.
As per revenue records, a total of 176.05 acres of government land exists under Survey No. 626/2. Out of this, 166 acres had been allotted to the Telangana Forest Development Corporation, leaving 9.05 acres as unallocated government land. Historical village records (Khasra Pahani) also reportedly classify the entire extent as government land.

However, certain individuals have claimed rights over the remaining 9.05 acres, identifying it as land linked to the Nizam era. The matter is currently pending before the High Court, which has issued a status quo order, directing that the nature of the land should not be altered and no constructions should be undertaken until a final judgment is delivered.
Despite the court’s directive, complaints were received through Prajavani alleging that a person identified as Tazammul Moinuddin Khan had levelled the land and converted it into a layout. Field verification by Revenue authorities confirmed that the individual had encroached upon the 9.05 acres by erecting precast boundary walls. Authorities also found that some plots had reportedly been sold.
