The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) carried out two major operations in Ranga Reddy district on Tuesday, protecting government land in the IT corridor and removing encroachments from a lake in Abdullapurmet mandal. In Khanamet village of Serilingampally mandal, HYDRAA secured five acres of government land in Survey No. 42, located along the road connecting Metal Charminar and the HITEX Exhibition Centre. Acting on a complaint from the Revenue Department, HYDRAA removed two temporary sheds, a room and fencing that had been erected on the land.Officials said some individuals had allegedly attempted to encroach upon the highly valuable property and had been preventing others from accessing it while claiming ownership for several years. Following a request from Serilingampally Revenue authorities, HYDRAA cleared the encroachments and fenced the entire five-acre parcel. Signboards identifying the land as government property were also installed. In a separate operation, HYDRAA removed encroachments from Marripalli Lake in Marripalli village of Abdullapurmet mandal following the lead from a complaint received through Prajavani. A field inspection conducted with concerned officials confirmed that portions of the lake’s Full Tank Level (FTL) area had been encroached upon.According to a statement from HYDRAA, an RMC unit had been established in adjacent patta land, and soil was being dumped within the lake’s FTL limits. Temporary sheds had also been constructed to house workers. Officials found that nearly five acres had been filled with soil in an attempt to occupy the lake area.HYDRAA demolished the sheds, demarcated the FTL boundaries and erected fencing to prevent future encroachments while ensuring access for agricultural activities.
