Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Sunday directed officials and contractors to expedite the final phase of renovation and development works at the Sammakka Saralamma shrine at Medaram and ensure the highest quality standards.

The Minister, along with Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) and other people’s representatives, visited the temple and offered special prayers.

Later, reviewing the progress of works with district officials, Mr. Srinivas Reddy instructed officials to complete the pending works at the earliest, in strict adherence to quality and safety norms.

On the request of Saralamma priests, the Minister directed officials to complete construction of all main arches approved in the master plan. He noted that a special Saralamma arch had been erected near the queue line and asked officials to submit proposals for the remaining arches.

Emphasising durability, the Minister said stone structures should be strengthened without any gaps, flooring in the Gaddelu (sacred platforms) levelled uniformly, and effective drainage ensured to prevent water stagnation.
