Amid complaints from residents of multi-storey apartments that property tax payment has become confusing due to a new set of questions related to waste management, GBA chief M. Maheshwar Rao announced that the process would be simplified.

Mr. Rao acknowledged the complaints, stating that the system, which was intended to enable seamless transactions, had inadvertently created confusion. “I have received representations, and understood the problem. It is a thorough process with genuine concerns raised from apartment complexes. We will look into it and simplify it,” he said.
The concerns stem from the requirement for apartment complexes, classified as bulk waste generators, to specify how their waste is managed and how much waste is generated across categories such as wet, dry, and sanitary.
