As many as 2,839 students from Andhra Pradesh have passed the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) examination on ‘Introduction to Quantum Computing: Quantum Algorithms and Qiskit’.
A statement issued by Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) on Thursday said the initiative is part of the efforts to build a quantum-ready workforce.
Council Chairman K. Madhu Murthy made special arrangements through AP Online, enabling students to take the examination.
Officials said the State achieved a milestone as 1 lakh students enrolled for the examination, 19,000 students appeared and 2,839 of them qualified.
Prof. Murthy said the top-performing students would be sponsored for exposure visits to I-Hubs across IITs and IISs, given internship opportunities in national and international quantum labs and supported for career placements in high-end quantum technology roles.
