April 16 (UPI) -- Project Hail Mary has earned a Guinness World Record following its publicity stunt in space.

Sony announced Thursday that the movie was awarded the Guinness World Records title for Highest Altitude IMAX Film Trailer after broadcasting the film's trailer in space.

In a partnership with the space agency Sent Into Space, the Project Hail Mary trailer was shown March 14 on a scale replica IMAX screen 101,896 feet above Earth.

Sent Into Space previously said its team built a carbon-fiber launch vehicle to launch the screen, which was built to operate in the sub-zero temperatures of space.
