April 15 (UPI) -- A Michigan man said his ticket for the Michigan Lottery's Super Raffle was sitting in a box for nearly five months before he discovered it was a $100,000 winner.
Maybee resident Perry Pendleton told Michigan Lottery officials he bought his ticket for the Nov. 19 raffle at the Kroger store on West Main Street in Milan and put it in a box for safekeeping.
"I bought five Super Raffle tickets over the course of a few weeks and put them in a box since the drawing was a few months out," Pendleton said. "Just last week, I thought that I'd better check my Super Raffle tickets since I still hadn't done that yet."
He was shocked to discover the results.
"One of the tickets was a $100 winner and then to my surprise, one came up as a $100,000 winner! I thought to myself: 'Is this real?' I had to check the ticket three or four more times after that," he said.
