ICE Holding 86-Year-Old French Woman Who Moved To Marry Sweetheart: ReportAn 86-year-old French woman has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement since the beginning of the month — and her kids are now worried about her health, The Guardian reported Tuesday.The woman, named only as Marie-Thérèse in news reports, moved to Alabama last year to marry an American man named Billy, a military veteran with whom she had a romance in the '50s.After Billy died in January, one of his sons reportedly cut off the water, electricity and internet service to the home where Marie-Thérèse was still staying. She filed a complaint, but just before she was set to go to court, ICE arrested her and placed her in a detention center in Louisiana.“For us, it’s urgent to get her out of the detention center and bring her back to France,” one of the woman's sons told the French newspaper Ouest-France, according to the Guardian. “Given her health, she won’t last a month in such conditions of detention.”“It’s like a bad scene from an American film," the son said.
