The Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized five kg of hydroponic cannabis, valued about ₹5 crore, at Perambur railway station.

The contraband was found abandoned in a suitcase inside a general coach of the New Tinsukia–SMVT Bengaluru Express.

The RPF team, led by Inspector Arun Kumar, noticed the unclaimed bag during a routine check. On inspection, they found four airtight packets containing the narcotic substance. The seized drugs were handed over to the Narcotic Intelligence Bureau (NIB-CID) for further investigation.
