The 2026 Masters will culminate in what looks to be a classic finish at Augusta National. Rory McIlroy is backed into a corner. Cameron Young continues to heat up. And Scottie Scheffler is lurking as a possible Sunday spoiler.
The top seven on the leaderboard contain four of the top-10 golfers in the world, including No. 2 and No. 3 sharing a hold of the lead in McIlroy and Young, respectively.
Saturday was marked by a tumultuous amble through Augusta pines for McIlroy, who entered the third round with a six-stroke lead. Three bogeys and a double bogey on No. 11 later and he finds himself no longer the presumptive winner but a golfer with a congested leaderboard on his heels.
Young posted eight birdies on Saturday en route to a 7-under 65 that has him just 18 holes from his first major win. He and McIlroy enter the final round Sunday, April 12 sitting at 11-under par. Not far behind the tied leaders are Sam Burns (-10) and Shane Lowry (-9), with Jason Day and Justin Rose tied for fifth at -8.
Just four strokes from green jacket territory is Scottie Scheffler, who has been just good enough to be within striking distance entering the final round.
