The field has been narrowed and the race is on for the green jacket at the 2026 Masters.

But Rory McIlroy has quickly turned it into a historic one-man race.

After shooting a 7-under par during Friday's second round, McIlroy's bid for a second consecutive win at Augusta National is alive and well. McIlroy is at 12-under par for the tournament and holds a six-shot lead over Patrick Reed and Sam Burns. It is the largest 36-hole lead in Masters history.
