Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) of sexual assault in a bombshell CNN report published Friday has come forward with further details, telling The New York Times in an interview that he sent her numerous inappropriate messages in 2021.“A lot of it was like photos of him going on trips, on airplanes, in hotels, him laying in bed, and then like things like, ‘What would you do if I was, like, with you’ or, like, ‘Wish you were here,’” Ally Sammarco, 28, told the Times on Friday. She added Swalwell eventually sent her a photo of his penis.“It made me feel gross and uncomfortable,” said Sammarco. “I didn’t ask for that.”Sammarco said she was 24 years old and working as a field organizer for the Democratic Party of Virginia when she contacted Swalwell on Twitter in 2021. He then offered her his personal cell phone number, asked her to text him, and inquired if she had a Snapchat account. The Times said Sammarco provided the outlet with screenshots of the text message exchange. Unlike cell phone or X messages, Snapchat allows users to share photo and video messages that disappear almost immediately after being read.Sammarco told the Times that her Snapchat conversation with Swalwell turned “inappropriate” when he started asking personal questions, discussed alcohol, told her she was attractive and sent the photo of his genitals. She said these exchanges occurred three months before Swalwell’s wife gave birth to their third child, and that he was continuing to message her in private while publicly sharing photos of his newborn baby on social media platforms.“He would send me messages like, ‘When am I going to see you?’” Sammarco told the Times.Sammarco told the outlet that she slowly stopped responding to Swalwell after coming to understand that he would not help her find a job.Swalwell denied the allegations from all four women in a video shared Friday night on social media, calling them “absolutely false” and apologizing to his wife and supporters.See All UpdatesClose
