The Puthiya Needhi Katchi founder, A.C. Shanmugam has predicted a dent in DMK vote bank in the forthcoming elections in view of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s entry into politics.

He told the media persons here on Friday that the TVK might garner 20,000 to 30,000 votes in each constituency and might snatch the second spot if their candidate is strong enough to influence the electorate.

The chances of TVK bagging some seats could not be ruled out. “TVK’s entry is all set to swing 70% of votes away from the DMK,” he added.

Stating that drug abuse was rampant even in villages, Mr. Shanmugam said the society could be saved from the evil clutches of drugs only if AIADMK-led NDA secures power in the State.
